Why Addis Ababa
Coffee, canopy, and the Union
Coffee & the land
Origin and climate
Ethiopia is coffee's country of origin. Highland agriculture — and the livelihoods tied to it — depends on rainfall, soil, and altitude. Climate change is a threat to that relationship. This page does not invent crop-loss statistics; it states what is established: coffee began here, and the land is the conference's first argument.
